March 11, 2012 - A Wine-Tasting Tour

Italian food and wine - what can be better than that!

We started out our day with and early lunch at Lecuga's Italian Restaurant (oh, yum!) and then a tour of five wine tasting rooms at the Colorado Winery Row in Denver.  We visited - and tasted our way through - Bonacquisti Wine Company, Garfield Estates, Cottonwood Cellars, The Olathe Winery and   Verso Cellars.  Needless to say, we had a wonderful time!  Good food, good wine and good friends - what more can you ask for!  Such a wonderful thing, that little grape!

February 13, 2012 - Colorado Public Television Auction

We represented the Classy Red Hatters by manning (womanning??) the phone bank for the auction.  This is one of their 2 annual auctions to raise funds to stay on the air.  We were told that we exceeded their goal!  This was the third time we've helped at this auction and it was a blast!  We also had help from Rowdie Rose's husband and Lady's Sue's granddaughter.

February 11, 2012 - Fusion Botanicals

In February we made a visit to historical downtown Parker, Co where we visited Fusion Botanicals where we learned to make wonderful soap, sugar scrubs and solid (yeah, solid!) hand lotions.  The scents were amazing and the final products were beautiful.  We followed the soap-making class with lunch at the War Horse.

January 8, 2012 - Lifetime Candles

We paid a visit to Lifetime Candles in Bennett, CO to see a master candle maker make some beautiful smokeless candles.  They are amazing candles and it was fascinating to see them made.  Of course, there was food involved here, too.  They were kind enough to feed us a dessert of either blueberry cobbler or strawberry shortcake.  Both the strawberries and the blueberries were grown on their premises.
